The Greater Shepparton Business Network expresses its gratitude to Mooroopna Golf Club President Paul Prosser, General Manager Craig Prothero, Tony Decicco, and their outstanding team for hosting the February After 5 Networking event. Despite facing a thunderstorm and rainfall the night before, the sun emerged by mid-afternoon, creating an ideal atmosphere for socializing, networking, hitting golf balls down the range, and learning about the Club’s history and future plans and vision.
GSBN President Stephen Schneider stepped up and introduced a challenge where the person landing a ball closest to the pin would win a watch generously donated by Stephen’s Jewellers, adding an exciting element to the evening under the shade of the majestic River Redgums. Congratulations to Henry for hitting a hole in one!
Once again, it was a flawless after 5 networking event, and the Greater Shepparton Business Network extends its thanks to all attendees. New members from the Greater Shepparton area are always welcome. |

After 5 Networking Event Hosted by Watters Electrical
|
|
|
Congratulations to Matt Hanlon and the entire Watters team for hosting a fantastic networking event.
The effort you went to in preparing the big plant and equipment shed and setting up 4 very impressive technology displays was greatly appreciated by the 100 strong Audience.
Whilst we enjoyed the woodfired Pizza and a cool drink on what was a very hot evening,
Matt, Reg, Cameron, and Michael blew us away with an insight into the diverse operations that few of us knew went on inside the big Watters Shed.
“WOW I didn’t know Watters did all that!” was a very common comment from the Members and Guests in attendance.
The GSBN networking events are facilitated within Members businesses for this very reason so as we can better understand the services we can deliver right here in Greater Shepparton.
To learn more about becoming a GSBN Member and attending future events, please contact us via email: admin@gsbn.net.au or phone us on 0407 503 886

VCCI Round Table – Shepparton
What’s covered
The start of 2024 has seen sweeping changes to our workplace and industrial relations laws with the passing of the Closing the Loopholes Bills.
These workshops will provide key insights into the major elements of the “Closing Loopholes” changes which are likely to have far reaching consequences for employers, employees, independent contractors, principals and gig workers across both Victoria and Australia.
Our Victorian Chamber Experts will dissect what these changes actually mean for business and employers, including:
- the introduction of the new right to disconnect
- engaging casual workers and the new rules about who can be a casual and new obligations to covert casual employees to permanent employment
- the new definition of who is an ‘employee’ (as opposed to a contractor) and the new ability for independent contractors to dispute unfair contract terms in the Fair Work Commission
- changes to union right of entry rules and the granting of new right to workplace delegates
- the new ‘same job same pay’ labour hire regulation
- small business redundancy exemption changes
- significant changes to the Fair Work Act’s compliance and enforcement framework, including the introduction of a new criminal offence for ‘wage and superannuation theft’
- new standards for road transport and gig workers
- enterprise bargaining changes and more.
