Australian tennis personality Jelena Dokic will visit Shepparton as a guest of the Greater Shepparton Business Network on the 20 March 2024.
Facing adversity both on and off the tennis court over many years, Jelena will touch on topics including mental health, domestic violence and her time in the tennis spotlight, promoting her new book “Fearless: Finding the Power to Thrive” at a two-course sit-down dinner at The Woolshed at Emerald Bank hosted by GSBN.
A talented tennis player who reached the quarter finals of Wimbledon at the age of 16 and was number four in the world by the age of 19, Jelena was a household name in the late nineties and early noughties and stole the hearts of Australia with her fierce determination and doggedness on the court.
She has suffered many mental and physical struggles, including domestic abuse, illness, heartache, trauma and more.
In more recent years Jelena has turned to tennis analysis and commentary, featuring heavily on the recent Australian Open coverage. “Fearless” is her second book, with bestselling survival story “Unbreakable” released in 2018 providing insight into her unstoppable determination on the court and in life.
Jelena will be visiting Shepparton as an initiative of the Greater Shepparton Business Network, which provides a forum to network, collaborate, share insights and successes so consider making a night with friends, colleagues or hosting a table for your customers.
