GSBN Takes Part in Federal Minister for Small Business Briefing
One of the pillars of GSBN is to be a representative voice of Greater Shepparton business to all levels of Government.
Through our proactive partnership with Victoria Chamber of Commerce and Industry, GSBN Secretary Stephen Schneider recently had the opportunity to participate in a high-level business briefing session with the Federal Minister for Small Business, Julie Collins.
Facilitated in Melbourne by Victorian Chamber President Paul Gurera, the forum bought together a diverse group of individuals representing many small business sectors. GSBN, through Stephen, provided significant input on the challenges facing regional small business in the current economic and employment landscape. Most importantly Minister Collins was clearly aware of the critical role small business plays in growing the Australian economy and she was eager to listen to the views of small business.
The Minster was very engaged regarding new initiatives and direction the Federal Government can undertake in partnership with State Government to provide better framework and infrastructure to stimulate employment, productivity gains and economic growth within the small business community across Australia.
GSBN Member participation at recent networking events in Shepparton and Mooroopna provided Stephen with first-hand feedback from our diverse Greater Shepparton business community.

After 5 Event hosted by Barbeques Galore
Delicious slow-cooked brisket sliders and mouthwatering chicken wings expertly smoked by hosts Jason and Michelle Bathman from Babeques Galore was only part of the fantastic evening that was the GSBN’s August After 5 Networking event.
The sold out event gave members the opportunity to wander through the store where there was a selection of quality BBQs, accessories, outdoor furniture and outdoor heating products on display, all while having a chat and over a glass of local wine.
Owner, Jason shared the journey of how he came to work in the business as a young school leaver to now owning the store he runs together with his wife, Michelle.
It was a fantastic way to network…all while learning about smoking meat and utilising your BBQ to its full potential.
All the team at GSBN would like to thank Jason and Michelle for hosting such a terrific event that everyone fully enjoyed
